Exposing Anti-Mormonism and Religious Bigotry

Most true Christians would join with the Latter-day Saints in condemning dishonest portrayals of other faiths, smear tactics, and religious bigotry. It has no place in true Christianity.

An anti-Mormon political cartoon from the late nineteenth century.
Anti-Mormons are modern day Pharisees. They don't care about the truth nor do they care to represent Mormon beliefs in their true light. They constantly bear false witness and they never update their information even after being corrected. This is not the behavior of a Christian and now there are other Christians who are calling them on the carpet for it.

"I think we may accept it as a rule that whenever a person's religious conversation dwells chiefly, or even frequently, on the faults of other people's religions, he is in a bad condition."
-C.S. Lewis (Collected Letters Vol. 3 p. 209).

"Don't try to tear down other people's religion about their ears, Build up your own perfect structure of truth, and invite your listeners to enter in and enjoy it's glories."
~~Brigham Young

“Every time they persecute and try to overcome this people, they elevate us, weaken their own hands, and strengthen the hands and arms of this people. And every time they undertake to lessen our number, they increase it. And when they try to destroy the faith and virtue of this people, the Lord strengthens the feeble knees, and confirms the wavering in faith and power in God, in light, and intelligence. Righteousness and power with God increase in this people in proportion as the Devil struggles to destroy it.” (Brigham Young, Discourses of Brigham Young, p. 351)

“No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done”
~~Joseph Smith

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God"
1 Corinthians 10:31-32

"The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is."
~Winston Churchill

“I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.”
~Francois Voltaire

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?”
~The Bible

“When someone asked Abraham Lincoln, after he was elected president, what he was going to do about his enemies, he replied, 'I am going to destroy them. I am going to make them my friends.'”
~Abraham Lincoln

“Virtue is but heroic bravery, to do the thing thought to be true, in spite of all enemies of flesh or spirit, in despite of all temptations or menaces.”
~Albert Pike

“Whoever benefits his enemy With straightforward intention That man's enemies will soon Fold their hands in devotion.”
~Nagarjuna

“If we could read the secret history of our enemies we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“Many have had their greatness made for them by their enemies.”
~Baltasar Gracian

"The Jews are a nervous people. Nineteen centuries of Christian love have taken a toll."
~Benjamin Disraeli

"LDS love that Anti-Mormons have our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Common. God bless you all AND us as well! Have a great day now, hear?"

Radical anti-Mormonism is just another type of crazy.
